Its annoys me that premium partners are allowed to use "click here" in their ad but normal adwords cant.

Then why not become a premium partner?

As far as I understand, Premium Sponsorship agreements are no longer being entered into by Google. Once the current contracts run out, it won't be an issue anymore.

Ally_cat is right. I got some bozo above me and I can't do a thing about it. I will be glad when those things run out.

I think Google has agreements with AOL to hold adwords to a specific editorial standard.. Since the premium listings aren't shown on AOL you can get by with more..

"Click Here" ads are sooo last year. "Click Here" in my opinion will not get you the type of surfer who will neccessarily convert into a buyer. In this day and age where each click costs $$$ why not try and limit the person who clicks because you told them too, ie. "click here" and try and target a click that converts with something like "Free Shipping" or ad copy that tells the potential clicker what they are getting into? I get enough people clicking on my ads without having to write copy like "Click Here For My Website", the average surfer knows to click on a link and therefore me telling them to do so is a waste of valuable ad space.

I care to disagree with the above.

I don't follow...you don't think the average surfer knows what a link is/looks like? "Click Here" for what?

I wish they still had it. I want to be a bozo. I keep running into things where it does not matter how much money I have I can't get to number 1. What ever happened to money talks. AOL won't let you run any banners if somebody already bought them. No matter what you offer them. If you buy up all the impressions you own it until you give it up. I guess being from Texas I should understand. I guess I will just go out and hug my oil well. :)

Click Here? Mmm.. methinks it is a waste of valuable ad real estate!

Click here works. I've tested it. Too bad I won't be able to.

Click here works. Ive seen true conversions with it much better without it. And blinky click here text works well too ;)
