Hi guysmy,

A warm welcome to WmW!

I use the program for a couple of sites. I am satisfied with it. Getting decent ranks for some keywords on Google can take time and energy. The program is a good temporary measure for site owners in a hurry for traffic. It all depends on ROI you get from visitors.

Things are pretty calm in here during the week-ends. (Most of regulars are pros)

If you want more info about it as soon as possible, I suggest that you use the "site search" feature (top menu) to consult WmW massive database.

See you!

I've been using Adwords for one site almost since Google began providing it. I have 2 ads running on the one account so that I can try different things to see if they affect clickthrough rate. I've tried Adwords for a couple of client sites as well.

I've tried all sorts of things including using common keywords and obscure keywords and phrases. I've had ads displayed over 10,000 times a day to all users throughout the world, and I've restricted ads to certain countries only.

On average, clickthrough rates have been low, varying between 2% and 6%, with about 5% of those who click through making a purchase. Be careful about using common keywords and phrases as you can easily end up with ads being displayed thousands of times a day and no clickthroughs.

A couple of quick tips - don't display a price in the advert as this is what people want to see most of all. If they see a price, they won't bother clicking through. Find a way to add the word FREE to your ads. People like "free". No, people LOVE "free".

Does Adwords work ? Yes, providing you use it carefully. Monitor clickthrough and sales rates over a couple of months and try different things with your adverts. You'll eventually find a solution that suits you and gives a good return.

I have been using Adwords for a month or two, and we have seen some good results, but we are still working out the kinks to get a better CTR.

My company has used AdWords a few time now, and have had moderate success. A click through rate of about 4%, which isn't bad, but could be better. The only problem I see with AdWords is their location on your actual screen. When people type in a keyword to search, hit enter and the results pop up, most people tend not to start reading right to left. They are kinda' left in the outfield..way out in right field to be exact. They do work, and are fairly cheap and it's great to be on the first page of results, but a far cry from being listed in the top 10..

I've been using adwords on and off since it started and it seems to be working for me. For the global ones I was getting around 5% click through rates, but as a lot of my clients are UK based the UK ads work great. The traffic is small, bit I am getting from 46% to 16% click thru's. You have to keep tuning them up though, just rewording an ad can make a huge difference. I do think they are best as temporary traffic drawers though, other forms of seo are much better in the long term.
