eCPM dropped, is it my content?

My eCPM has dropped to like $1 for the last week. Is it the content on my site or just everyone clicking on the cheap ads?

I had a great run with the whole yellow bracelet ads.

Nothing has changed on my site as far as content or design.
Traffic seems to still be the same as the last few weeks.

Can I conclude that people are clicking on cheaper ads rather than the higher paying ones?

Will adding more or less Adsense ad spots to my pages increase or decrease my revenue?

No it wont work like that. Just check the CTR is it in the normal range for your site? Other factors could be the season for your products, older advertisers have moved out or removed your site (yes they can do that). Maybe you blocked some advertisers / competitors who happened to pay well?

And finally as another thread here goes "Smart pricing kicked in" For no apparent reason your clicks suddenly stop being worth for what they are. Try increasing the traffic, its a hell lot easier then trying to analyse Google Adsense. At least you can monetise it in other ways if this doesnt work.

<edit> oh of course your can "optimise" your site for adsense ; look around for posts on this forum. colors, fonts, borders etc do help in increasing CTR and consequently revenue. </edit>
