Weird Adsense Ads

I have the 720x90 250x250 and 160x600 google ads on my site in that order. At the top the 720x90 shows the text ads 4 in a row, but the other 2 lower on the page have what looks to be like 'image ads'? I have image ads disabled in my account.

The ads have big text that says the advertisers title and then a little bit smaller (but still big) description.

What are these and how do I get rid of them?

Anyway to get rid of them? Just ban the advertiser's URL?

Don't touch.
It really seems to be working better.

Yeah, they are working a little better, but I've been getting the same one for days, and it is garbly rubbish with like 3 consonants that don't seem to fit whatever word it's supposed to be.
Very strange indeed.

If I'm going to get these big 'ol text ads, then I wish they would shout at my viewers in a language they understand- like something matching my niche.
