Imagine, the next 45 impression, 0 clicks,
eCPM goes down to $21,35
There are also statistic formulas, based on impressions, to calculate how significant a statistic is.
5 impressions have no statistic significance.
But 5000 impressions even with 1/10 of this eCPM would be great.
does this amount change up and down througout the day?
Overall it can be a valuable measure to compare performance over time and between and among different ad units, pages, groups of pages etc.
If you enter these figures into a spreadsheet over time you can discern patterns. While at times the patterns can be baffling you can use them to gauge the relative effectiveness of ad units, pages, ad placement, etc.
