To achieve better ad targeting.

BUT: Is this considered as cloaking?

Hi there,
I have the following question: I'm thinking about adding the following html-code to all my webpages since the ad targeting by google just doesn't work with my web-page.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not after high-paying keywords, ads, etc.. I simply want relevant ads to show on my pages.

<div id="id">
[text with some relevant keyword density. No, not misleading crap. Just site-topic relevant sentences.]
</div>

Then in the css I would put:
#id {
visibility: hidden;
}

This way, my visitors wouldn't see the hidden sentences, but google AS might serve my site with better ads. My question now: Could google ban me from the SERPS for this technique?

I know about the ad-section-targeting tag <!-- google blabla start/end-->
But I certainly do not want to go through all my 200+ pages manually and see, where the relevant sentences are and wrap them in these tags.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Sven

To me, that doesn't pass the sniff test. You could put whatever keywords in there that you wanted to.

Of course, you could always ask Google.

Re going through all 200 pages on your site manually to insert the targeting code, why do you assume you need to do that? I'd only do it if there was a problem with a particular page. Most well-written pages are already getting relevant ads.

And wouldn't it be just as much work with this? Or are you going to put the same hidden keywords on each page? If so, I wouldn't do that.

Program Policies of Adsense say:
"Avoid hidden text or hidden links"
and it also prohibits
"Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages".

So I guess your idea indeed doesn't pass the test.
You could ask Google but I surely wouldn't put those keywords on your pages without their permission...
