I have a site with a regular 4,000 visistors per day or so, but on some days traffic can peak all the way up to 25,000. Today for example I have a lot of traffic because I'm "cool site of the day" on some major site.
I use Google adsense for 3 days now, yesterday about 4,000 visitors, today a multiply of that figure (don't know the exact numbers, my statics program is choking over it right now). One day I make $4, today I make many and many times more. Should I be worried that Google thinks I'm frauding? Mind, this I run an honest site for people of ages, I have no intention to be part of fraud in any way.
Anyone had experience with peaks like these, with traffic about 5-10 times higher than normal?
The traffic is mostly going to one particular page, which has content that is extremely popular. I already had 100,000 unique views on that page after 20 days in the beginning of this month.
If that would mean I have to remove to addsense on that page, then what's the whole purpose of having adsense at all? I'm not forcing people to click, they see the ads, are interested and want to check them out. It shouldn't matter that mainly this page is targeted now does it? If that would be the case, them sites like ebaumsworld.com or digg.com would cause anyone who has a popular article or any other content to be banned by Google and that would be thousands each month and then I don't even mention other sites that have the same purpose as the sites I mentioned earlier.
I don't know exactly what Google considers sky rocketing. CTR did go from 0.3 to 1.6. Is that sky rocketing? Don't ask me why it went up.
It might have to do with the fact that the large group of people who visit my site right now are not the same kind of people who normally visit my site and most of them haven't visited my site before.
The point is that the article is only slightly related to the site where all the traffic is coming from; mine is about graphics design, the other site is about computers in general.
Anyway, I contacted Google to make sure that everything is ok.
It just seems to me, I read another thread a couple of weeks back where the same thing happened to someone else, and his account was disabled, and it was a mess trying to get G to give him his account back.
That's all, peace

Yes, but it's hard to compare both sites. I don't know the other site and you don't know my site and you have to believe that what that other guy was saying was all the honest truth. I do try to take some posts with a grain of salt.
That was also one of the reasons why I contacted Google. It's better to hear it from their point of view. Maybe I should have done that before posting this thread, but then again, the lst time I asked Google a question I never got an answer and another time they only returned some promotion E-mail ha!
