i have an adlink which does about 40,000 impressions a day, the ctr is pretty low under 0.3% and only earn between $5-$10 a day from this adlink.

would i be better off to remove the adlink? or will i earn $10 less a day?

I would remove and look for a CPM ad campaign to put in its place.

With good CPM campaign you could make 30 - 40 dollars, but you would need more space for ad.

When AdLinks first came out we tried them in the middle of pages for a few weeks and the results were terrible. We removed them.

We also had the search bar in the common border at the bottom of every page on all our sites which also includes links to our interior sections and pages. It also returned terrible results.

I then replaced the search bar with 1 small square ad unit and an AdLinks box and blended them into the border. The site links were left in a different background colour.

All I can say is WOW!

I think by the time people get to the bottom of the content page they are ready to look for something else.

my CPM on the adlinks are very low (below $0.30 for the most part) compared to the ads.. i don't understand why, the adlink page basically shows the same ads a normal ad unit would show..

doesn't make sense why CPM would be so low.. you'd think CPM would be much higher as the user has to click twice for you to earn anything.

I just ran a report on these two items (small ad unit + AdLinks block on bottom border) and, while I can't post specifics as per the TOS, I can say that the AdLinks unit represents 22.3% of my gross earnings so far this month and the small ad unit represents 13.3%.

When you consider that those two small units are contributing 35.6% of my monthly AS income I would say that's pretty impressive.

Before the change the search bar was only averaging about 3%.

Wonder how AdLinks can be so bad.

Nearly 50% of my income are AdLinks.

The best possible uasge for such a small ad space.

I use 120x90 AdLinks.

My 300x250 ad in the navigation brings little bit less than the small AdLink

I use a 160x90 extensively. These are on the same pages as a 300x250 regular adblock. The ctr CTR for the Adlinks vs the regular adblocks is nuts.

For most of mt channels, one day Adlinks is way up and the regular ads way dow, the next day it could be reversed. But some channels are very consistent, and very close in CTR overall.

There's no obvious pattern for most of my channels.

Still, Adlinks have boosted my earnings a lot.
