Does adsense ban domains or just accounts?

I'm contemplating purchasing a website, whose current owner had their adsense account disabled. If i were to buy the site and then try to place adsense on the site would my account also be disabled?

I think yes. There have been many cases posted here that accounts were disabled for being "associated" with other banned account.

If the owner had run AdSense on the site, chances are it has been blocked from running AdSense.

You can test the site by inserting the adsense code, and replace the publisher id with "ca-test" (a google test account).

If the site still runs ads you can always contact adsense to find out what would happen if you took over the site before you risk your account.

If they didn't ban the domains too there would be nothing to stop someone with a banned account to just get a new account and put AdSense back on the same domains.

I suspect you'll need to contact AdSense Support about this before your buy it.

domains are banned also. Absolutely definite. I was attempting to do the same thing and got a reply from adsense support which stated this quite categorically
