Very early invalid clicks

When I was setting up my site with google adsense and very very new to the whole thing, I didn't realise I couldn't click on something I was genuinely interested in. I think there would be 2 clicks from my IP, and then more recently I found a google ad had opened as I think I must have done something accidentally. I am not earning enough for them to pay me anything at all as yet, but the posts here scare me. I don't want to spend time on google and promoting them if all that will happen in the end is that they ban me for about 3 clicks. Do I write to google and ask them about it, or do I simply leave well alone given that I doubt the earnings will appear in the amount where they pay you for a long time yet?

Thanks

In the past 4months I have accidentally clicked my ads about 5 times :/ I emailed them everytime they just quote the TOS in an email back to you. stupid laptop to touchy sometimes

yes, I think they are quite tollerant on the "new account, few clicks to test" issue.

I guest that as long as your clicks do not get to the $100 threshold, they don't really care: it's not real moeny for you, and it's real money for them!

LATER, they will get very careful about this, so don't don't don't do that again :-)

best luck with your adsense adventure

Thanks. The really silly thing is, that although I didn't buy, I really did want to see what was behind the first few ads! I think I also wanted to be sure the whole thing worked!

As you know, clicking on your own ads is prohibited in all circumstances to protect the advertiser from cost inflation.

However, to address your point, there is a way to view the ads safely: the Google AdSense Preview Tool.

I highly recommend downloading the preview tool for a number of reasons (e.g., to see the ads your users in other countries see, to create filter lists, and to view the destination URLs of your ads).

To read more about preview tool features, check out: [adsense.blogspot.com...]

If you'd like to download the preview tool, you can do so at:

Hi all -

Yes, thanks for making that point. Iwrite, the preview tool is experiencing some technical difficulties and the engineers are working on fixing it as we speak.

Thanks for your patience, and I promise you'll be able to enjoy its many benefits again very soon!

Adsense advisor - thanks - actually I have been having trouble getting any of the tools - it won't take my password - even thought I know I have the password right. I decided it was a glitch, but it useful to know.

I did email Google. I got a very acceptable reply that also contained helpful information. What I didn't get is the reference to TOS without reference to situation that some people say they have got. I did indicate I now understood about the preview tool, and they just asked that I would use only this to view the ads.
