PSA image adds, But everything else OK.

Why would certain adds be PSA?

This seems a little strange to me, everything else displays well, I am using the 120 * 240, 125 * 125, 728x15_0ads_al, etc..... and they are all OK.

But this is the first time I have used an image add.
I think it will work well for what I want, hey even the PSA doesn't look that bad, plus the add is for the red cross and their appeal for help for the hurricane victims, so I feel a little bad about trying to remove it.

But the overwhelming feeling of doing something incorrectly makes me ask the question.

Why no real image adds?

Also does anyone know how to track which adds are being clicked on your page?
Thanks,

I recommend opting in to both image and text ads for each of your ad units. This should solve the problem of PSAs, and also guarantees that the highest paying ad will always show on your site. I'll explain further.

Opting in to only image ads can sometimes result in PSAs appearing on your pages if the image ad inventory for your site content is limited. Remember, image ads are a relatively new feature and the inventory is still growing.

Secondly, when you opt into both image and text ads, the greatest possible pool of advertisers competes to display on your site. If our technology determines that text ads will perform better than image ads, text ads will appear. For you, this means higher AdSense earnings.

Hope that helps,

ASA

Thanks for the pointers, but after thinking about it I have decided to just let the redcross adds run, maybe something will come back to in the form of karma

That's true - karma will swing full circle as you'll need help from the red cross after you nearly starve to death waiting for the ads to go away and the cash to return.

flaxmac - unless you're on a humanitarian kick you should listen to AA. Image ad inventory tends to be very limited. Remember - if you're CTR gets consistently low G reserves the right to boot you from the program (I'm sure that won't happen but I thought I'd warm up the scare stories for Halloween).

my ctr ranges between 5% to 15%, hey I wouldn't mind if it was higher. Maybe I should explain my page design first. Before you all think I am an idiot or a nice guy or something strange like that.

***********************************
My page looks like this:
(In the header)
Width of page 765px (centered)
Leaderboard (728 x 90) RED Cross image Banner accross the top center of the page.

(In the body)
Leaderboard (728 x 90) text add

Page contents, maybe 10 - 15 or so lines, with a few bold headings mixed in.

Leaderboard (728 x 90) text add

(In the footer)
A few links to some affiliates.
***********************************

I think it looks quite good. The length of the page doesnt need to be scrolled to be viewed, it's all just there, a pretty good balance.
