Here's is my problem....On one of my sites I have two ad placements. One is usually a set of 4 really nicely targeted ads. On the second ad, sometimes they are also 4 nicely targeted ads, but an inordinate amount of time there is only one ad in the ad block of normally four spaces for one particular advertiser. The ads for this one advertiser just crop up over and over again, even on pages on my sites that only have a marginal relationship to their product.
If I remember correctly, I think I read some where that advertisers can pick sites in particular to advertise on. If this is true, I suspect my site may have been chosen by this company. But I'm concerned that the lack of variety in the ads and the loss of specific products related to the topic of each page may be hurting my income.
So do I trust in Adsense software on this one to pick the ads that are making the most money for Google and me, block these ads for awhile and see what happens, or?
I made some other changes recently so I didn't want to start blocking the ads yet, as I did not want to introduce two variables at the same time.
Just curious if anyone else has been through a similar situation.
I made some small code changes so the ads that showed up first on the screen also showed up first in the HTML. I reused the same ad block code for the second block and just moved to in the code below the other ad block. However, I think by moving the code it still caused the second ad block to be treated as new ads and triggered the site default type ads. So I'm getting the default ads for my site temporarily. The pages I updated yesterday do have more targeted ads now.
