The forum used to be a place for great advises, now it’s just a place where newbies come and ask stupid questions (95% of the questions shouldn’t be asked if they read the Adsese TOS)
I may not have many posts, but I rather read all the old topics rather then posting unimportant posts, most of the newbies should do the same (reading the old posts will help them finding their answers)
We must save this forum
This is another way to

In fact, your history tells me you only post in the Adsense forum. I personnally think that WW is sometimes too much Adsense related. You see what I mean. Make money is a priority but helping newbies not really.
Most of my visitors are newbies so are they a good part of the rest of you. With computer sales booming who do you think just might be buying them?
Anyway, I answer their emails and try to help them as much as possible. God bless the newbies. ;)
Give them a good experience and they will bookmark you and be back.
Ann
P.S.
I have met some highly intelligent people who is completly lost when they get that first computer but they soon learn and they learn where to go for the 'friendly' sites.
Nice categorizing newbie questions as stupid.
PalX didn't say the newbies were stupid; he (or she) said the questions were stupid.
The real problem, IMHO, is that many new members are too lazy to read old threads (or even to read the AdSense TOS and FAQ). This problem certainly isn't exclusive to this forum, or to Webmaster World in general, but it does seem to to occur more often than it did a few months ago. Perhaps Webmaster World is becoming a victim of its own success.
Heve you ever read "so much" that you cannot read anymore?
You need a person to answer the question.
Warmest Regards,

P.S. My violin right now is playing that song by Bonnnie Ray...
if you want something to talk about talk about"Love"
"Love thy neighbor as thyself."
A good many newbies here probably don't even know they could search the forums using Google.
Collection of threads?
There's quite a nice collection in the library [webmasterworld.com] already.
A good many newbies here probably don't even know they could search the forums using Google.
Most of the time, they don't even need to search. Just perusing the most recent page or two of threads would be enough to find the desired information.
Forums are forums. Might as well get used to it.
I think the point is that the quality of the forum isn't what it was six months or a year ago. That may be inevitable, but there's no reason to pretend that it isn't happening.
A good many newbies here probably don't even know they could search the forums using Google.
This is what keeps me from posting here more. I don't want to repost, but having to search that way is lame, so I mostly just read all the other reposts. (this is also the reason why I haven't searched to find out why there is no user-friendly integrated search feature here)
there is no user-friendly integrated search feature here
OK, obviously you don't read reposts either as I just told everyone how to add a user friendly integrated search a couple of days ago.
Take a peek at this as I'm too lazy to repost it AGAIN...
[webmasterworld.com...]
why should anyone have to in order to do a search as easily as on any other forum? Thanks! Posting that link can probably put this thread to rest...
The thread the link is pointing to is also displayed when you click the "site search" link at the top of any page on WebmasterWorld. You probably never clicked that link anyway, so I wonder if posting that link by incrediBill will put this thread to rest.
But still, the OP raised a valid concern. In a good running forum there is a balance between the number of senior members and newbies. The senior members discuss all kind of issues and they are happy to answer questions from those who are not so experienced. The newbies read both the answers on their own questions and the other threads and their knowledge increases.
If a forum grows too fast, the balance between the types of members changes causing more newbie to newbie discussions. These are less interesting for others causing the seniors to post less. In the end only the newbies are left and the seniors have moved on to other forums, causing the quality of the AdSense forum to degrade. This is nature, but not necessarily the end of this forum. Newbies will learn more and become knowledgable seniors at the end.
Webmasterworld is just that, a world community of webmasters. It's just natural that some folks will have a high IQ (intelligent posts), and some folks will have a lower IQ (less intelligent posts). I've seen some less intelligent posts turn into excellent, well thought out discussions and some "intelligent posts" often end up being a pile of crap....
Just my thoughts....
Dave.
Everyone that showed up was asked to take a short written C language proficiency test using some Brand X compiler with the reference manual present to use. One of the candidates was throwing a fit about how dare they ask him to take a test to prove he could do the work, he'd been programming C 10 years blah blah blah.
30 minutes later I was finished and this self-proclaimed "expert" was a quivering pile of jelly stuck on a simple question that was easily answered in the Brand X compiler manual. He was ranting at the recruiter, practically in tears, and it was all I could do to not bust out laughing like a hyena.
It all boiled down to READ THE MANUAL, he flipped around looking for the answer but didn't use his brain and actually READ THE MANUAL.
I, on the other hand, READ THE MANUAL and answered all the questions correctly and was offered a job.
Back to the topic, the same people that don't RTFM and skip the Google instructions won't bother reading the FAQ and there's not a whole heck of a lot not covered at Google so redudancy for the sake of the terminally lazy is a waste.
To newbie-phobics out there, be afraid...be very afraid... :)
This site is a great site but very user unfriendly in my opinion. Having to use google to search makes us jump through hoops to find an answer is a pain.
Anyways, I think when you have forums you will always have newbies asking questions...
BTW, has anyone seen a lag in adsense stats today? (j/k)..:)
This phenomenon hasn't peaked yet (and is probably just starting), so expect more newbie questions in the future.
Actually I remember this phenomenon from when I went to school (a long time ago) where the kid next to you sits and stares out the window while the teacher lectures and then gives out the assignment. The kid then frantically begs everyone around to know what we're supposed to be doing when he suddenly realizes everyone else is busy with the lesson except him and he's clueless.
Nothing ever changes.
Could it also be labelled something like 'Adsense Faq - read before posting' or some such and bolded or highlighted.
Ok - we'd probably get a similar amount of these run-of-the-mill queries but at least the OP could be civilly pointed at and quietly read through the FAQ without having to expend the effort of searching. Just a thought anyways... the FAQ does seem to be pretty out of date.
To be honest, I never noticed the Adsense FAQ at the top of this forum! My eyes automatically pop to the first forum question.
My apologize in advance for my dumb questions in the future because I am too lazy to figure out how, to figure out where to find the answers ;)
