(Part 1)
Can anyone tell me what it is that has the most impact with generating adds from adsense?

The contents of the Title tag, Description tag, Key words, <H1> <H2> etc...., Bold Italic Underlined, achor text in a link (or onmouse over event), the first part of the page or the last part of the page, pictures (alt tags, title tags) or anything else that I may have missed?

(Part 2)
sometimes when I click on an adsense add it takes me to a list of Google adds. Why is that? Shouldn't it take me directly to the advertising company?

(part 3)
I know this is not exactly good practise, but I wanted to see what the value was from a click on a page, so I had a friend click an add for me, from his pc, but nothing came up for that page for about 2 days ( and I think that was from other people clicking it). Why did that happen? How can we trust that all the clicks are being registered and we get paid for them? Does google allow for a few test clicks from new pages and doesnt register them or pay for them?

part 2: you must have clicked on ad links.

part 3: you can't ask your friends to click on your ads. that's a violation of TOS, and wasting advertiser's money.

part 2)
I didn't click on the google add, I clicked on the add that is supposed to be to another company, but it takes me to another google page.

part 3) yes I agree, but back to the main point, why no trace of the click?

why no trace of the click?

Perhaps G knows who your friends are, so they don't pay you for the click?!

(Just kidding, I'm not that paranoid!)

We should all realize that the Google God knows all and is all seeing. Trust in your Google God. ;-)

part 1: No one has figured out the algorithm. It's probably as complex or nearly so as the Google search algo. Write good content pages with useful header and titles. You can waste a lot of time if you try to reverse engineer the system.

part 2: Maybe the page the advertiser had as their landing page only had Google ads on it.

part 3: Who knows why your friend's click didn't show up. But don't worry about it. The system seems pretty reliable, from what people report here and my personal experience. As with part 1, I see little point in trying to figure out click values. They can vary widely, because the system is complex.

Write good content, keep track of results using channels, and write more content like that in your best-performing channels. In a nutshell, that's the secret to success. Oh, and get good traffic from search engines and links from respected sites.

Hi all -

Text-based content, in the form of paragraphs and sentences in the body of your page, is the best way to help AdSense crawlers determine the content of your page and serve relevant ads.
