Ugly non-profit ads

I can't believe how horribly the non-profit ads look in AdSense ads. I don't mind them showing non-profit ads if there really are no other ones to display, but why do it in such an obnoxious way? It messes up the entire layout of the page.

I hate it. Please, Google! Make the non-profit ads look the same as the normal ones!

I'm surprised how certain topics are totally overlooked. Have you answered this questions too many times, or why do you ignore this thread?

There are options if you do not want to show PSA's.

collapsing ad units:
[google.com ]

alternate ads:
[google.com ]

I don't recall much discussion in the past on the appearance of the non-profit ads KimmoA.

As for me, it is not a problem because I run alternative ads instead of allowing Google to post non-profits. So appearance is not an issue. It is common, so that may be one reason you are getting little response.

Hi KimmoA,

As I said to you before, if you'd read the ToS and FAQs that you so airily dismissed as "bullsh*t", you'd have known about them.

I don't let the PSAs show on my sites except in very specific circumstances, and either collapse the ad unit, or drop in Tribal Fusion or an affiliate ad, or some interesting content.

FAQs are often called that for a reason. And a common reply to having one asked again is apparently "RTFM".

Rgds

Damon

PS. Indeed, if you type "PSA" in the AdSense help/search/"FM" box it takes you to the "Quick Start" page which tells you how to deal with the issue.

DamonHD: I know about the "alternate image" (and have used it), if that's what you mean.

Why wouldn't you mind as every lost impression is potential lost income?

You're just giving up your web space for free to non-paying crap. Install the AdSense alternative ads code and plug in affiliate programs, CPM ads, anything that pays as it's not worth letting them get your spots for free when other things will pay.

incrediBILL: I have a confession to make. I thought that "alternate ad" refered to the alternative image you can specify. I will now re-read Google AdSense stuff.
