Is it according to TOS to block our competitors from adsense without any other solid reason ..?

How would you go about "blocking your competitors"?

very simple! block their URL from displaying on your website in Adblocks.

Good question then. This is one for the AdsenseAdvisor.

huh? i don't understand.. isn't that what the filter list is for? you don't need a reason to block them.. it's your decision and no one else's.

I'd say that it is allowed, given that the filter is actually called the "Competitive Ad Filter"... ;-)

Of course you can, after all, that's actually what the filter is there for.

However, it isn't always a wise thing to do. I'm quite happy about the fact that my competitors have to pay to have a share of my traffic.

Your competitors are probable the only ones bidding on, or has any use for, the keywords necessary for your site. Why shoot yourself in the foot?

I'm with the other guy, let them pay to share my traffic. ;)

You can also use the filter to block ebay and made for adsense scrapers / directories. You don't have to justify blocking an advertiser.

It is wise to keep a very close eye on the results of any blocking. You might find that blocking competitors / ads you don't like decreases your earnings. On the other hand, it might work extremely well for you - it certainly did for me :)

Rolozo -

You are welcome to block your competitors' URLs, or any other unwanted advertisers, from appearing on your site. :)

However, we caution you from blocking too many URLs as this can lead to lower earnings. I recommend blocking as few as necessary.

For instructions, visit [google.com...]

you can block them but it's worth comparing the payment from their click versus the conversions you're trying to protect - definitely might be worth keeping them there.

I'm totally onboard with my competitor(s) paying me money.

I'll gleefully line my pockets with their loot and dance thru the casino like a pied piper of dice heading for the crap table courtesy my competition. If anyone can figure out which fat butt is mine at PubCon you can witness this in Vegas.

Hey, someone has to pay for my vices...

I have absolutely no poblem with competitors ads. My competitors are genuine advertisers selling goods and services, and their ads pay well.

The problem I have is when the insane target bot chooses to remove these well paying adverts and replace them with low paying scrapers / directories that are just there to scam advertisers, or totally unrelated advertisers that simply won't ever get a sale off of my visitors and should never have been placed. These are the ads I block.
