Since the past month during sundays my traffic drops 20 - 40 % and adsense revenue (CTR) increase by over 50 - 60 %. I cant understand why is this so?

Much will depend on your market. I know someone here has reported Sunday as being the best day of the week. If you have people rank the days of the week from best to worst, some people's worst day will be other's best day.

Saturday and Sunday are my worst days. I have a travel site, and weekdays are my best days--probably because my readers think most about taking a vacation when they're having a bad day at work. :-)

I am lucky if I get 200 visitors on Saturday or Sunday. Like EFV says more people think about travel or starting their own business on a weekday when they are having a bad day at work.

I also think that US traffic {my site is 85% US traffic} is highly dependent of broadband access available at work. While broadband is penetrating the home market is still not as pervasive as it is at work. For kicks, I sometime check the ips of my visitors and find all sorts of big companies on the other end.

My best days are Friday and Saturday. Monday is the worst. As Jenstar pointed out - it's all in your market.

Sundays are ok for me, but a Google Sunday includes a good whack of an Australian Monday, and some of my content is Australian-specific (and on a .au domain).

Sunday has not been a day of rest for me. The daily average is up for that day and it is good.

How are the hours of the day split up for you? My earnings roughly split up in fourths from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. (I'm in the central time zone.)

Saturdays and Sundays are definitely different than the rest of the week, sometimes higher and sometimes lower, in general just much less predictable.

That's hard to say, with traffic and revenues being international. A publisher who caters primarily to readers in one country (or one continent) might find it easier to discern a pattern.

For as long as I can remember, my site traffic has looked like a sine wave, with peaks on Wednesdays and a fraction of a weekday's traffic on Saturday or (particlarly) Sunday. It's funny how that can work. So no, Sunday isn't my best day.

It's so funny.. you can see traffic spike right after Sunday football games end, for example. My sites get the most traffic monday through thursday. Friday slows down, saturday sux, and sunday sux too, but less than Saturday.

Sunday is worse for me as adsense publisher.:(

Yet for some vague inexplicable reason on every wednesday I get lot more earnings per click.:)

On the side note, I am also adwords advertiser on content ads, the convertion ratio is much much better here.

Is Sunday good?
I run education sites so the answer for me is a definite no. The last thing teachers want to do on a Sunday is worry about class. But again, and as already mentioned, different areas will experience different trends.

However, Sundays are not as bad as expected. I think that's because throughout my area, traffic drops off, which reduces supplies of ads, which prevents higher priced ones from being used up. And so daily revenue drops a lot less than expected.

Sundays for me are much better than Saturdays.

Monday traffic skyrockets and any day of the week connected to it gets some spikage attached to the end or beginning of it.

Make a site about church or football, or the church of football.. youll get alot of sunday traffic!
