AdSense Conundrum - The Sorcerer's Stone

Being an AdSense webmaster is weirder than it looks

Here is an ultra-strange thought that occurred to me today:

AdSense is a product that makes you money that you are not allowed to "sell".

It's like the Sorcerer's Stone in Harry Potter, that the only reason Harry was allowed to touch it is because he did not want it.

Think about it. Strangest case of indirect optimization of a revenue stream that I have ever seen.

But AdSense isn't your product, it's Google's.
Your product is the space on your website where you put your adsense panel.
You sell that space to Google and, in return, Google pays you a commission based on the money it makes in selling the space _inside_ the adsense panel to advertisers.
