Recently a higly popular astronomy site joined AdSense.
If I click on one of the ads on the page, the ad appears in a new window. How is that posible?

It's against Google's terms unless they are a premium publisher getting special permission.

Opening a new window is against the rules for the rest of us, report them, it'll go on their PERMANENT RECORD ;)

I will not report, they must be premium, it is a very popular site.

thanks for your answer

If they aren't premium they are violating the rules, they might be even if they are premium.

Maybe I should open AdSense links in a new window too since nobody will report it as the rest of my site opens links to a new window.

Rules, who needs 'em.

In my experience, the forcing of a new window/tab/whatever is totally random with AdSense. Sometimes, the ads I click try to open new windows.
