Hello WWW,

Just a quickie, I've just changed the border colour on one of my 468x60 Google adsense blocks.

The add then suddenly changed to a new layout/format which I have never seen before from google anywhere (even premium account holders)

Heres my page with the strage advert on (its near the bottom 468x60)

<snip>

Has anyone else seen a google add like this? I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks

Craig.

Hi there,

Sorry I should have read the TOS before posting the URL.

However this is very interesting and strange,

The Google add in question has the following new features which I have never seen before:

i) add has NEW very thick coloured dividing lines between the text links

ii) add has NEW thin lines at the outer odges of the text links.

iii) add has not got the 'adds by google' or 'ads by gooooogle'

Has anyone seen this before I would love to hear your comments.

If you stcky mail me I can send you the URL if that is witin the WWW TOS?

Many thanks

Craig.

check javascript ad code that there aren't any missing " quotes or ; semicolon.

once i edited the color hex manually and must of removed a quote by mistake and ended up with a retarded looking ad. dunno just one possibility.

Hi there,

I have checked, and double checked the code and it is original and intact,

This new add looks better than the original in my opinion.

I would like to work out how and why its showing like this so I can replicate it, of course only if it is a legal Google add.

Many thanks

Craig.

iii) add has not got the 'adds by google' or 'ads by gooooogle'

Check also that the page has not somehow been hijacked by someone placing their own ad on it or that your computer has been infected by adware that is replacing the AdSense ad with another one.

Hi there.

The advert in question is hosted on one of our secure linux servers.

The code is original google code that has not been altered in any way, apart from colour changes.

I have been using Adsense for quite a while now and know that what I am getting here should not have happened.

This is not the result of any hacks, adware or spyware, I have looked at the page from multiple browsers/locations/operating systems.

Many thanks

Craig.

I once got a really weird looking google ad block that didn't even say google on it. I discovered that I somehow got the last part of the code ahead of everything else.

Google often beta tests various ad unit formats, if the code is correct, it sounds like this is what you are seeing.

why not email the ad to Google and ask them about it?

Let us know what they say. :-)
