I replaced Google Ads on my main page with Red Cross banners. My main page Google ads are dead center, but were low performing because more people are attracted to the content.

However it's a very high visibility position and Red Cross will at least get noticed right away.

Has anyone else replaced any Google Ads with hurricane relief? Perhaps for low performers. I just wanted to get an idea of whether or not there are charitable thoughts and ACTIONS in this forum.

I haven't replaced any ad groups. Instead I just put a big ol link for relief donations at the top of the index page. You can't miss it.

there are charitable thoughts and ACTIONS in this forum.

Probably more that we know.

Changing the whole ads may not be the right action, in fact. Let's think that you're making 3,000/month and the banners led only $50 to Katrina Relief. On the other hand, maybe you would donate $100 if you earned the $3,000.

Of course, you can still donate without the 3,000/month but the right action to take here must be something without changing the banners, a link or a link with some text to make people remember it may work fine and be enough.

Maybe Google good make a charity channel where all clicks are still counted but the money is turned over to Charity by Google on behalf of the webmaster. The easier it is to give, the more people will give.

I'm thinking about putting up a link to amazon's donation page, but it would probably just be on the main page of my site.

I agree with teasers about making a personal donation, and not going overboard with ad replacements.

I already took that advice. Consider this. After the hurricane I donated an amount to the Red Cross that excedes my total AdSense revenue (ever). That doesn't say much since I'm just getting started with this AdSense thing.
