EASY Rotating Color Palettes!

Just by coinsidence today I discovered while playing around with ad colors palettes that I can select more than one palette at a time by pressing the Ctrl key! The thought came to me that perhaps that could be an easy way to do color palette rotation but then I said probably Google does not support that, at least will not make it that easy. But alas, I found this feature mentioned in the Adsense Optimization Tips page:
[google.com...]

Seems the feature had been around for quite a while but I just did not know about it or though that color palette rotation was something not easy to do (something in the order of collapsing ad units for instance).

I'm posting here just upon the thought that probably many as well did not know about this feature though it could have been around for quite a long while.

You could actually make a small script to rotate the colours also - this way you are not limted to the amount of rotations.

using the rand() function in php to randomise a colour from a list.

Just a thought!

It is easy to use--I've tried it and the interesting thing is, it actually reduced my CTR. I chose color schemes that were similar to my default, which has my site's color schemes, but it seemed that even the small variation made people shy away from them (or something).

Worth testing, though. They work for EFV.

Pallet rotation works for me. But like most of these features and techniques you need to test them on your site to see if they work for you.

And thanks for posting this thread Shafki, new and sometimes old features manage to slip by even experienced folks. So threads like this help keep everyone aware of these things.

I would guess that color rotation works best for sites that get a lot of repeat visitors. Works against "ad fatigue." My sites all get a steady flow of new visitors (about 95% are first-timers), and I've found that a blended color scheme that doesn't changes works much better.
