Hello all,

I have a small hobby site, rich in content (about astronomy). My site gets about 20 - 25 hits every day. I was just wondering... Can google be intrested in accepting my site for AdSense? having so few visitors.

Thank You

I'm not sure if they have a minimum number these days, but that does seem very low.

Frankly, I think you'd do well to work on building traffic and content and inbound links -- astronomy may be a niche, but it's not necessarily THAT small a niche! Get up to at least 500 hits a day and then apply....

I don't think there is a current minimum.

You're only going to make pennies a day, so it hardly seems worth the trouble. If it was me, I'd keep my site ad-free.

malasorte -

You are welcome to apply for AdSense - there is no minimum traffic requirement to create an account.

Yes, you can apply, but you will be probably making $3 a month. On the other hand you can invest this money on AdWords and drive more traffic without investing your money.

Many thanks for your answers. 3 $ would be great to buy charts! :) I keep my hopes realistic :)

Can I give a link to my site, for you to make an ideea if I can get accepted (the site is non-commercial)?

No - that's against the WebmasterWorld TOS, but as long as your site complies with the AdSense TOS and guidelines (available on the AdSense website when you sign-up) then you'll get accepted.

That's the right attitude. Of course, you'll have to wait until 2008 to reach $100, get your first check, and start your shopping spree. . .

One last question. How much I get paid for one click? Is the ammount variable for diffrent sites?
I would like to know that to see if the 3$ a month are realistic lets say for one click a day.

Thanks all for your patience with me

Yes, read the terms, make sure your site and your ad placement conform to the terms, and do not in any way or under any circumstances click your own ads or encourage your friends to do so.

Sorry for the lecture, but if you've been reading this forum for any length of time you'll understand why these concepts need to be reinforced.

P.S. Yes, $3 a month is realistic. It varies quite a lot, but you'll probably get more than 10c a click and less than 1 click a day.

I have no idea what astronomy pays however I have one site which so far this month has had 1,000 page impressions (33 per day) and has made USD 77.00, therefore even sites with few visitors can provide a reasonable return.

How much I get paid for one click?

That's the big question for all of us and depends on the willingness of visitors to spend money. There will be advertisers for almost everything a visitor wants to buy. A page about the theory behind quasars might not attract to much high paying ads, but an article about equipment review could. Just sign up for AdSense and you'll be amazed what keywords advertisers are advertizing for.

I'm in other niches than you, but I am everytime again amazed at what some advertizers are willing to pay for a well targeted visitor to their site.

True it's possible in theory, but your site won't earn close to $77 CPM unless it's about buying telescope insurance, or how to file wrongful-astronomy lawsuits.

I applayed for adsense, I will wait for the answer and I will let you know about.

Astronomy is a very good market with a lot of advertisers for telescopes, eyepieces and so on. I will see what I can make out of this.

PS: Sorry for my English, its not my main language, usually I check spelling with software but now I dont have the time.

Thanks again!

Oh really...I can assure you that this specific regional brochure site, has nothing to do with anything like that, it manages a CTR 22.8% with an EPC of USD 0.335 for a niche construction product, no insurance, no legal stuff, just plain old boring niche widgets:-)
