Greetings

I noticed a strange thing. When I view my site with Firefox, every page has my adsense text banner ad displayed. But when I view the same pages, at the same time, bu in IE, no adsense are displaed!

Am I imagining things? or what?

Check your IE settings, you probably have JavaScript support turned off for the security zone.

You're right, my IE security setting was on 'custom'.
Some software must have did that. I've reset it to default.
But unfortunately, adsense is still not showing!
I've restarted my IE. Should I reboot too?

Have you installed any 'popular p2p programs' lately? The only reason I ask is, many come with an included HOSTS file, which blocks adverts from a lot of advertisers, google included.

yes, I use Ares.
So what do I do now. I just want to make sure that my site users, using IE browsers, do see the ads. How can I be sure?
Does anyone knows a proxy online browsing service that doesnt block adsense ads?

Sallam -

If you would like to sticky mail me your URL, I can check this problem out for you.

You might want to try deleting your cookies and temporary internet files for IE. Also, try viewing your site from a different computer using IE. This way we can troubleshoot whether this problem is related specifically to IE on your computer, or in general.

Sallam
I seem to have a VERY similar problem, below is what I put in the main www forum hoping for an answer.
---------------
For many months now I have had this irritating problem with internet explorer 6.0.2900

When I first open the browser the homepage is blank (should be G) hit refresh over and over and over, nothing, cant view source either.

If I empty temp int files and hit home button its ok again for a while, not long can be a day or 2 minutes.

I have tried telling it to empty temp int files on closeing of ie that still doesnt work.

Also when looking at sites sometimes they dont show adsense, refresh refresh sweet fa, empty temp int files all is well again, tried everything but this problem still exists, when emptying the temp files there cant be many as it can take anything up to 2 seconds to do it, view files shows empty, still blank homepage.

Javascript & css also sometimes doesnt work, for example msoft pages look terrible if the css isnt read properly, when in adsense admin panel setting up new colours for ads I get a script error bottom left (yellow triangle) and the sample ad colour is duplicated over itself about 8 times?

Any ideas? anyone

AdSenseAdvisor any advice?

wheelie34, for starters go to the Windows Update site just to make sure that your computer has all the current updates.

You might also try one of the spyware removal programs (Spybot, AdAware, etc.) to make sure your system is clean. Also make sure that you haven't picked up a virus somewhere - a good, free anti-virus can be found at Grisoft.

Disk clean-up & defrag are a couple of other things that you should be doing on a regular basis. Run them manually so you can be sure that they complete their job.

Just basic stuff that can make all the difference in the world.

I have had this problem for ages, ads appearing in Firefox, but not IE. I'm guessing it is a common problem. It is intermittent though. They come and they go in IE, but Firefox - always present.

Well,

I have a problem not exactly like that but similar. Many times when I open a page it shows Public Service Ads (I am talking about in IE), but once I refresh the page it shows regular ads. If this is a IE related problem that means a problem for all of us. Because an average viewer will not refresh the page just to see the ads. They only open a page read the article and leave after a while

To be honest, I have not observed this problem with Opera or Mozila. But generally, Adsense seem to do better with these two browsers.

So hopefully, this may shed some light on what can be done to improve.

I also don't run any alterante ads for two reasons.

1. Running public service ads are morally right and they should be given a chance to champion their cause to make the life better on this earth.

2. Running public ads also gives me an opportunity to observe targeting related issues and find out if I see problems and report them. Otherwise, you will always see the alternate ads and will never realize that there is a targeting or other related problem on that page.

Take care.
