August Was a Bad month

I hope things change in September, everything is down particularly my traffic and earnings...

Looking forward to the end of the summer holidays and some wintery North European weather...

One guy is doing terribly, the next is looking forward to steak 'n lobster next month for their efforts.
How can anyone gauge one month over another by the comments left here?
We have no idea what anyone is doing to affect their earnings-unless they tell us!

I couldn't say.
Don't make enough to see a difference, especially when I'm happy when it's over 2 bucks for a given DAY.
But I don't create 10-20 new pages a day either- so there are clues in this thread after all.

August was excellent for me, up over 20% from last month.

For me July was excellent, and August has been "so so". Not bad, but not great either.

all in all a great month for me - even better than record-breaking july.

traffic-wise better than expected for summer, slight decrease in clicks and ctr, but increase in epc.
only the last few days were bad, i hope this doesn't carry forward into september.

only thing that really concerns me:
recently huge variations in ecpm - in one case up to 300% down from one day to another (and this is not a small sample).

i'm still wondering how this could reasonably be explained. sometimes i think, the inconsistencies are well intended and spread by the accounting system, so that any predictions are impossible..

My earnings are down 60% on July. My site is aimed at an industrial audience who mostly use their office PCs so some of this may be down to holidays but surely 60% of people don't go on holiday for the whole month of August?

August was a strange, rollercoaster of a month. Looked like I would break my monthly record for the first 10 days or so, then things stabilized, then crashed, then picked up and then stabilized again.

Even yesterday was strange. CTR only 1/3 of the usual figure, but earnings in line with averages (not that the average is particularly high).

After all this, it seems like August will be the second best for me, so I'm not complaining.

August has been my best month to date. Yesterday was my first $200+ day. I'll probably finish this month off with over $4,000.

I remember hoping to reach $100 a day by 6 months, and 6 months is a week from now, and I'm averaging over $150 a day right now.

No I don't think that I do. My point was that 60% of people are not on holiday in August. Are they?

My problem is that I only joined Adsense in the middle of August last year so I have nothing to compare.

I often see earnings drop to about 50% after the 20th of each month... Not sure why but such trend happens each month. It's almost telling us that advertisers kept their money when they spent enough.
