Google ADsense for Search

Did it work for anyone?

I have a googel serach box on each page of my website and it have not make me a single cent in last 4 months.
(Yes Adsense for content make me a regular $$$)
I have over 2000 vistors each day and around 50 searches daily (as told by google new top queries reports)

But I am very surprised not a single one (out of these 50*120=6000 peoples if we go for 4 months average) click on any of ad in last 4 months to make me some $$$.

does not it looks weired?

is this regulat trent with other webmasters?
should I check my code again.

This has been discussed at length in several threads, but in answer to your question, yes, AdSense for Search does work for some people. (In the case of my own site, it produces an outstanding EPC and CTR, but total earnings aren't very high just because few of my readers use internal search.)

in the order of 7-10% CTR for me, but very low earnings because of low traffic. It's my best performer! The main site is between 2 and 4%.

My results mirror ashii's, although I don't have the traffic he has. Might have something to do with where the search box is placed on the page. Mine is way down at the bottom of the index page, so I didn't really expect much to begin with.

Strange indeed. Google Adsence for Search isn't a cash cow but the CTR is good. For me the CTR is not less then Ossifer mentions. Unless your internal search results are so perfect that visitors forget to click on sponsored results 6000 searches should have given you at least something. A CTR of 0 is weird. The position of the search box is maybe of influence of the amount of searches but not on the CTR I think.
I would think check the code or faster for once ask your mother to search on your site and click on one sponsored link to check.

Is it possible the ads on your search pages are not relevant for your visitors? If Google places wrong ads on your search pages, your visitors will not be interested in them.

We are earning the equivalent of full-time wages on Adsense search. It works very well.

For me, the value of clicks is about 10 times lower than the regular ad units and although the CTR is 2 times higher, it still generates low income.

Since it's allowed to place regular ad units on search result pages, I'd go this way instead of AdSense for search. If your site has it's own internal search engine, you will make much more money through it.

Because of the number of pages and continuous grow, I can't install one for one of my sites though. Similar to WW's problem: [webmasterworld.com...]

In my case:

EPC is generally very low compared to AdSense for Content. CTR is high in comparison to AdSense for Content.

Usage is low - about 1/3 of 1% of visitors use it.
Earnings are low - about 1/3 of 1% of earnings for AdSense for Content.

Internal search is not important, whatsoever, for my site. I could probably discontinue it without any serious consequences. Most users find the information they want without the need for internal search. The search function remains there as a service.

Over the 5 year history of my site and using a variety of internal search solutions, I have found that most of the search queries are poorly related to the site. Not having immediately found the information they want when they come to my site, users have reverted to internal search. When they still do not find what they want, I suspect that most internal search users exit the site at that point.

I must point out, however, that there is nothing wrong with the service itself. When a good related search query is entered, it comes back with pin point accurate results.

In spite of my experience, I am sure that AdSense for Search works very well on some sites - especially sites with a lot of content which cannot be easily and logically indexed.

All this give me a good idea to design & try Internal search for my site.I guess its worth to try..

I have removed it because the earnings are so low, 2-4c per click, hardly any that generates more than that.

Once I removed them, my earnings went up so unless they increase the payout for Adsense for Search, I won't be putting them back on.

i think Adsense for search is just a PR thing for google.. so google can get users to use their search engine (more), in the process they get more traffic and pay you a penny for every visitor you bring them.

Exactly the same experience here, 3 days of it was enough for me!
