I have a question. One of my website has a number of popup windows on each page. All the popup page contains little information on it.

Can I use Adsense on these popups.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

No on two counts.

- No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages

- No Google ad or Google search box may be displayed on any domain parking websites, pop-ups, pop-unders, or in any email.

web_sense -

As mentioned, AdSense program policies prohibit the use of ads in pop ups. This is because Google believes in providing a positive user experience, and we have found that ads in pop ups can negatively impact this experience.

We therefore kindly ask that you refrain from placing ads in pop ups. Thank you for checking first!

I saw a site with related Google Adsense search results appearing as a pop under when I left the site. Not the standard Adsense search either - it looks really custom so I assumed it was a premium adsense thing.

It was a bad user experience for me. If I find it again I'll report it.

I have a page that uses popup dialogs to collect user input for calculations on the page. The user clicks an 'Edit' button, the popup appears, the user enters the edits, clicks OK, the popup disappears and the page is updated. The reason the dialogs are popups and not permanently on the page is for space, and to simplify the UI. Are Adsense ads OK in the dialogs (popups) in this situation?

No. Your dialogs have no content other than what the user enters, AND they are popups....

(And in any case, why would you want to put ads on such a "page"? You'd get a lousy CTR and you'd be interfering with something you presumably want your visitors to do.)

What does Google define as a pop up? It's a pop up ad, right? Because I have links that open a new browser window which give more information on whatever you clicked(like a side article off of the main article you are reading). it's definitely a legit page of content, and the window can only be opened by some one clicking on a link.

Or does google consider any newly opened window a "pop-up"?

thanks,
Chip-

carguy84, in my opinion, that kind of page is a page, not a popup.
