Not to spread webmaster info, just a rough guide

We are earning 200 to 300 dollars a day. Is this high, or are some people earning a lot more?

The numbers only become meaningfull if combined with number of pagviews/day and/or number of pages of the site.

it's easy to do 200-300 /day on a 100000 page site with 50k pageviews per day. whilke doing the same amount on a 500 page site with 5k pageviews/day is much harder.

Once you quote enough numbers to make it meaningfull, you're sure to violate the TOS.

You should really ask yourself, is it enough for your business? Is it worth for the space you loose?

Hehe, did over $50 for the first time yesterday on 1200 uniques, so if I reach 8k, I should manage at least $300, sounds good to me :)

Well, it really depends on what kind of traffic your site content brings in. Also the more important factor is the topic... I know this guy who started his own <snip> site and got like $20 per click from adsense. Yes, it's a jaw-dropping... but it's true.

Not a real good idea posting that here. Hope your friend is still your friend.

I get around <snip> page views with around <snip> uniques. I make under <snip>/day :(

Jobarr,

You are doing something wrong... You should be making way more. Are your ads showing PSAs?

I'm sure a lot of people would love to participate in this thread. Self-included. However it would violate TOS.

after 2+ weeks :
- I tweaked my conversion rate from about 3+% -> 6+%.
- Still doing about 3.5k/day in pageviews
- money went from about $100+/day to about $200

Hmm....does what I said violate the TOS? Maybe I should edit it out? The number of uniques and page views I listed are from my own page stats. (Google's numbers aren't much different.)

No, they are not showing PSAs. I have alternate ads anyway, but they don't show up very often.

Google TOS

(b) click-through rates or other statistics relating to Site performance in the Program provided to You by Google;

This means dollar amounts too!

You should all be careful, all it takes is google_guy looking here or a competitor turning you in.
You should not ever tell people if you have Adsense or not let alone stats!

...or be sure there is no way to trace back your website from your posts on the forum :)

I don't think that is a secret. That can be seen by visiting the website ;)

Dogboy : I tweaked my conversion rate from about 3+% -> 6+%.

Dogboy, can you give tips as to what kind of tweaking worked for you? Did you blend the ad colours in with your site, or make them stick out, for example?

well, first, I try to remember that just because I make money off a site doesn't mean that I should just assume that is the most I can make off of it. Granted, some of my tweaks were disasters, but if you play to win, then you got to roll the dice.

...anyway, I tried about every combination of things I could think of and then looked at the results. I know that sounds obvious, but I am really into stats. (I was an Environmental Studies major in college with a focus on analysis and policy... basically studied how dynamic systems worked, and statistics....I don't remember all the math but my strength as an SEO is my ability to fly by the seat of my pants... I do by feel, if that makes sense.)

my conclusion was that every site is different... in my case, I knew that I already had a site that kept people there as well as made them return. (Avg # pages viewed per visit: 5, Avg Length of visit: 3 minutes, 3 seconds, Visitor repeat rate: 13.7%) so I didn't want to screw that up by beating them with an ad over the head when they walked in... kinda let them let down their guard by showing a tower ad on the right that looked like an ad... then, on their next click, right below the header, right where you would look to find content/right where the eye's land, I gave them the little banner with the same background/border... that was the killer app for that site.... text ads are only good if people read them.
