See [webmasterworld.com...] .

A plug-in for the new side bar allows for constant monitoring of your AdSense results. Really neat feature.

Things to check:

First download the new desktop 2. Without it the AdSense monitor will not load.

Once you have the sidebar make sure the AdSense plug-in has been downloaded and installed.

If it didn't ask you for your log-in and password then just click on the options tag in the drop down menu to add them in.

It should work now.

But it is only Adsense for Search results, not Adsense for Content results.

I want the content earnings to be shown.

I have no problem getting the content information however it will not update by itself.

If I manually click the reload now button it just stays the same.

In order to get it to change I have to open an IE page, log in to AdSense and when the page is open click the reload now button on the plug-in.

Yes, the log-in info is correct on the plug-in.

That kind of defeats the purpose.

Hopefully this is just a temporary bug.

Yeah I kind of wish it was written by Google as opposed to "airbear software" whoever they are!

I have just gotten an error:

One or more of the following plug-in(s) raised an exception and was terminated abnormally.
Adsense Status
Do you wish to disable the above plug-in(s) now?

I guess I'll have to ditch it for now. Hoping for a new one that does what is expected without error.

Yep, even though the About page says it is for Content the numbers I have coming up are only for Search. It will be a neat feature if the AirBear folks make it work.

AirBear has just posted this on their forum:

Adsense Status is designed to only show information for Adsense for content. Showing information from Adsense for search is a random bug.

Adsense Status should also be automatically updating properly every 15 minutes. Because it uses IE to get the information, some computers have had problems with cached pages being processed, thus showing old information.

Both of these issues will be fixed in the next release of Adsense Status, which should hopefully be this weekend. A complete rewrite of the information processing backend is in progress.

Guess I'll stick w/SysSense which works and reports total earnings, but today suddenly started getting random login errors which is like the errors you're all reporting too.

In response to the info above I tried clearing my cache and then trying to re-load the info.

Now all I get is "connection error".

New reply on the AirBear forum:

This morning, Google updated its Adsense web interface. This is causing Adsense Status to read "Connection Error" on some computers, while the connection is fine. An update will be released later tonight to fix this problem.

TI, thanks. AirBear seems to be really responsive in supporting the plug-in so that's great.

But, yep, the "search" instead of "content" thing doesn't appear to be a very "random" bug as it was all I ever got until the Connection Errors took over.

Thanks, everyone for documenting this bug. As many of you know, Airbear is working on correcting the problem.

We recommend checking the Airbear forums for the latest information.

Does anyone know if this will be an automatic update or will we have to download the plug-in again?

got errors for both apps i use... "#*$!" and "revenue checker for adsense"

"Revenue checker for adsense" isn't freeware and the support "team" is on vacation. Which is a shame because the graphs and charts that it has are cool, but I'm not going to pay for software without support for simple problems that arise like this one. I'll just let the trial expire.

Sysense works just fine, is free, and already has an updated version with a fix for the login errors.

This Care Bears app, I haven't tried yet, but will now.

I had posted this info earlier today however it seems it has disappeared somewhere. Must have ruffled something in the TOS.

For anyone wanting the latest version (that works) go to the Google Desktop plug-in site.

Would suggest uninstalling the faulty one and then downloading the working one.

it would be cool if you could change the time between updates.

The other tools allow you to set if you want it to check once per 15 minutes or once per hour.

I prefer once per hour, but I think this one does it every 15 minutes.

To me that seems way too often and even though this tool is sort of endorsed by Google via their desktop search client, they also said they don't want too many automated queries sent too often.

Yes, Adsense Status updates every 15 minutes. However, don't worry, you're not harassing the Google Adsense server. The Google Adsense team approved of the 15 minute update time.

In the future, I'll consider adding an option to change the update window, though you won't be able to set it below 15 minutes.
