Revenue for doing nothing, literally?

Have 0 clicks so far today but earned $0.02 already!

Now I'm confused, how can I earn money for no clicks if Adsense is a pay-per-click program?

Have I missed something here?

Looking at my stats, it seems I have managed to earn revenue (literally pennies) for channels that have reported to have no clicks from about the 19th Aug.

How is this possible?

Yes, pay per impression ads. Introduced a couple of month ago.

Ah, now it is making more sense... thing is this is the first time I've actually seen the extra revenue. (will teach me for not paying attention).

I used to get quite a lot per click and this past month is poor by comparision, perhaps more are moving to CPM ads to reduce the cost.

Just when things had picked up for me again...

It sounds a bit like my day, couple of hundred impressions, one click :-( Everything seems to the CPM, as that's where most of the $0.09 i've earnt today has come from.

I could almost cry... ;-(
