I am just starting out with adsense and am basically starting from scratch, although i am a web designer by trade. I have read a good deal of the threads on the message boards here. I understand i need to find a niche, gather good content, articles, etc. I may even have some affiliate things on there as well. My question is not about creating the site or anything of that nature, but of the different methods you all use to get the traffic to generate the amazing incomes i have seen posted. Is it PPC like overture or adwords? Regular search engine rankings and optimization? What are the other ways to get people to come to my site and (hopefully) click my adsense ads? That is my main question. I have adsense on a couple of my other sites but they are only bringing in $1-$2 per day as they don't recieve a ton of traffic (nor should they)...but i want my new sites to bring in some good income. Any help or advice would be appreciated, i would even be willing to help out with some web design needs in exchange for the information i might need to get good results with adsense niche sites.

Why? Because you'll want to submit the site to DMOZ and obtain links from other third parties, and the presence of AdSense ads on an unknown site might trigger suspicion in at least some DMOZ editors and Webmasters. You want people who can help you to focus on the content of the site, not on whether it's just another instant platform for AdSense ads.
