What type of carrier pigeon does Google use?

Either a very slow one or it has no sense of direction

Finally received my first payment, but it took 24 days for the cheque to get here (Melbourne Australia).

That's 50 days since the end of the month that the payment relates to!

That means Google has your money for up to 80 days since it was earnt.

When it comes to paying for Google Adwords (in our case this is a significantly larger amount) we would be lucky to get 10 days terms.

Really Google, you need to provide a solution to this. I think most of us would happy to have the funds credited to our Adwords account.

I would not want money earned to be added to AdWords at all but I can see how it would be helpful for some.

And, for some reason 21st century bakning systems snail MAIL the check for clearign to a central bank in another country, THEN back to the isuign country, in my case addign another 3-4 weeks, which means google has the money for up to 120 sicne it was earned... The interest on that is worth almost more then the earnings!

Ahh the joys of banking! I started a thread not so long ago that was deleted because I was asking what type of bank it was, and I believe some people almost instantly flamed this bank in question.

They wanted a commission of US$ 75 for the cheque when the cheque was only US$ 175! Not of course including the commission my bank wanted which was a measly sum in comparison.

EDIT IN - I should add the above cheque I mention had nothing to do with AdSense.

Google uses a third party vendor to issue the checks. After Google pays the vendor, your money is out of Google's hands whether it takes a day, a month, or a year for the check to reach you. If you don't think the vendor is providing good service, report it to Google.

I don't think it is Google you should be complaining about, but rather the mail service ;)

And even at 80 days, that is far better than nearly other advertising network that comes to mind. And that doesn't even include the mail time once the other network mails it, which would probably take about the same amount of time as Google's did to reach you.

I agree with Jenstar. Google has no control over when payment is received. Their only control is over when it is sent. I also don't think Google is transferring publisher funds to any third party vendor, so the funds are in Google's control until the check is mailed.

Skip:

I tend to agree that Google is not to blame. Funny thing in my case {living in Florida} is that it takes about a week past the end of the month for me to get the check... while I read here from some European webmasters that get the check within a couple of days of month end.

I would not care for adsense payments to be credited to an adwords account, however, I can see how that would benefit a lot of webmasters so I am all for that being added as an option.

Of course, I would rather have direct deposit first :D
