AdSense for Search

Don't know much about it...

Hi everyone;

I'm a new convert to AdSense and it's been working pretty well on my site. I like the ads, the colors and the placement I chose is good (I get +/- 1% CTR in my forums without cluttering it - it still looks good).

I have my own internal search engine which is really good - but Google's is better. So I was thinking of using AdSense for Search. I bet it would help monetize my site.

The thing is, I would prefer it to only search my site and display the results inside my own template. In other words, I want some control over how it looks and my first priority is appearance & functionality.

To that end I messed around with Google's utility for making the AdSense for Search code but found it to be butt ugly.

Is there a way (or am I allowed) to make it so that it searches only my site and displays the results in my own template?

Better yet, does anyone have a good example of what they've done to make AdSense for Search integrate nicely into their own site.

Thanks for any replies!

no its not allowed.. i sort of wanted to do the samething.

i have my own search engine and wanted to add a drop-down menu for the user to search the site or search via google... anyway, i asked google and they said no.

i dont see what the bid deal is but anyway, cant argue with them.. i don't like the google search form/button/etc on dark background.. looks like crap so i wanted to use my own form which i have custom made with css/etc.

guess i won't be using adsense for search.

Thanks - that confirms my own thoughts.

Right now my own search engine's results page is nicely formatted within the my template. I do have Adsense on the top of it and it's still context sensitive so I guess I'll leave it alone :-)
