This is from the Google AdSense Program Policies

Webmaster Guidelines
In addition to the standards above, AdSense participants are required to adhere to the webmaster guidelines posted at [google.com...] Some relevant items from the guidelines are included below for your reference:

Avoid hidden text or hidden links.

Maybe AdSenseAdvisor can explain more, the way i see this its an advice and not something you are forced to do. Or am i wrong?

Well, you have to agree to the Program Policies to use the service, and the polices say you have to adhere to the Google Webmaster Guidelines, so it sounds like it is pretty clearly prohibited to have hidden text or hidden links.

You are right, but the reason I opened this subject is the following:

I have a website about the country Lebanon, and there are 5 or 6 ads about Lebanon, hotel and dating sites, and on all my pages the same ads appear, the news page or history page or geography page or even the wallpapers and msn display picture pages.

So the users who are coming to my site and reading the history of Lebanon will be much more interested in links about history (any kind of history) rather then links about dating site.

Hidden text (text the same color as the bg) has always been frowned upon.... it's been that way for years.

Adsense hasn't changed the rules...

You may want to contact Google directly about any targetting issues that you feel may be effecting your site's ad performance. It may be something they can fix on their end.

I don't think you can circumvent the rules just because you don't like the ads that are displayed.

In my opinion, it's best to just work with them and see what they can do about it. That'll probably give you the best long term results.

It might be the case that that particular page or site may not be the best fit for adsense, or it could be something that the Adsense team can work on to improve the targeting.

Contacting Google seems like it would be the best answer in this case.

PalX –

As other publishers have noted, the use of:

Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages

is prohibited by AdSense program policies ([google.com ]).

However, if you’re having trouble receiving ads targeted to the specific content of your web pages (e.g., 'history of Lebanon'), there could be many reasons including a limited inventory, not enough text-based content, or technical issues.

It’s hard to diagnose exactly what is happening without seeing your site. If you’d like, I’d be happy to take a look at your site to determine why this is happening. Just send me a sticky mail with your URL and I’ll take a look.

If you’d feel more comfortable emailing a support representative to check out your site, send an email with your URL and a description of the problem to adsense-support@google.com .
