Where are click dumps held?

Just how does this work through the system?

We have two accounts, let's call them #1 and #2, and #2 has had a couple of nice click dumps, one on Saturday and one this afternoon, Monday.

Now I assume that #2 account is held in a "different" place to #1 account since #1 account has not suffered through any lag whereas it was plainly obvious that #2 was earning next to nothing.

Just how does the click dump system work?

The information must be stored somewhere to enable them to credit accounts later on. Is the system that #2 is held on a possible feeder to the main system hence the delays at busy or upgrade times.

Are all accounts held in the same building or country or are some held regionally these days such as India or Ireland?

I'm not doubting G, I just wondered how the whole thing works. Does anyone outside of G know or have an idea?

Good question...I would tend to think they have some sort of queue system, that holds clicks in the event their database is unable to be updated or something.

Something *like* the "message quening" service available on MS.

Then when the DB is back online, it starts dumping out to catch up...

Just my thoughts...

I believe they are held in a 'lock box'.

Perhaps they store information on "suspicious" clicks in special table and they release them after further check...

Whenever a click happens, it effects one adsense user and one adwords user at the same time. Now I assume that there is an internal stage where the data is processed and millions of adsense and adwords user accounts criss-cross ( i cudnt find a better word ) on per click basis. So I think each click ( or click dump ) takes a different variable time to be processed during the search locate and interact in a criss-cross zone .

Just a thought! But i feel that to validate each click or click dump, some interaction is done with the adwords account also. afterall it has to reflect there too...

I think they check the conversion rate and if your conversion rate is higher than average, you get a bonus = click dump. Also high value clicks may be manually checked

Good description...therefore if there is any delay between datacentres criss-crossing with downtime, outages etc...then this data has to wait before it can recommence uploading the information to, presumably, the main datacentre(s) which is/are...where?

I used to have a difficult enough time backing-up my own hard drive so heavens knows what it's like for these guys!

A great 'strategery.'
