Browsers that AdSense works in

IE 4+ on the PC? Doesn't seem like it....

On this page:
[google.com...]
it lists the browsers that support the iframe tag as if that is all that is needed as long as Javascript works. It includes IE 4+ on the PC and IE 3+ on the Mac. But, whenever I test my site, I cannot get my banner ads to show up in IE 3 or 4 on the Mac, or IE 4 or 5 on the PC. They ALWAYS tell me "An error has occured in the script on this page, line 1, char 1, invalid character" or they just don't show up at all.

Am I doing something wrong or is the code just not compatible with IE lower than version 5.5 on the PC / 5 on the Mac?

Check out this thread:
[webmasterworld.com...]

Others are also having problems with AdSense appearing.

The other thing is to double check that the ENTIRE script has been cut and paste into your page. Not doing so would cause script errors.

I saw nothing there about OLDER browsers. IE 5.5 and IE 6 work fine for me on the PC.

I know it is not my code causing the problem anyway as I get the same errors on other sites with adsense when I test with those old browsers.

Could it be something in the settings - something that needs to be turned on in the older versions, but came as a default setting in the newer versions?

I don't know! :) Other Javascript works fine.

I e-mailed google about it and gave them screen shots and all of that. They are looking into it. I was just wondering if anyone here had had the same problem.
