Does site updates/changes affect displayed ads?

Has anyone else noticed that after an update to your website/blog that Google bombs displaying ads, which in turn cause my clickthru rates for about a week to hit rock bottom?

I'm just noticing this trend regarding my site, which showcases amateur ethnic models in the southeast(NO PORN/NUDITY)...PLUS, has a blog area that features political and activism type content.

Just wondering if this is an isolated issue.(scratching head)
