unclear about adsense for search

hi,

i'm unclear as to how i will earn money when having a google adsense for search box on my site.

when someone uses the search box on my site and clicks search where are they taken? at what point in this process do i make money?

understanding adsense for content is easy - the ads are on your site and when someone clicks one of them you get money.

With Adsense for Search you get paid when someone does a search AND clicks on one of the sponsored links at the top of the search results page.

See the "Ads by Google" area outlined on the graphic provided by Google:

opens a google search page with results and adwords displayed. You can try that yourself as click/payment do not occur until one of the displayed ads are clicked. Hope that helps.

so i can do a search on my own site but just don't click the ads that result?
