Revenue sharing on forums

Is this within the terms?

My question is regarding the concept of sharing adsense revenue with individual forum posters.

To me, this would encourage ad clicking, even though it says their adsense id won't be on any threads when they are personally viewing an ad in a place where they participated.

This would be a GREAT way for me to promote forum activity. I could care less about the adsense revenue, I just want to get my forum users to posting and creating content in the forums.

SO, can I do this with my site?

Thanks.

You said it yourself... you will be inadvertently be encouraging fraudulent clicks from people who don't realize they don't actually benefit.

Best to check with Google.

I think others have emailed Google about this one and got an OK, but you may want to make sure your implementation is within the guidelines by emailing G directly.

Someone wrote a mod for vbulletin that does this, and got an OK from Google as long as 2 different publisher IDs don't show on the same page at the same time (and all the other TOS rules are followed of course).

Still, you may want to double check so you have the answer straight from the source.

I got a clarification on this yesterday which said that the new TOS meant that you needed permission from the site owner. i.e. so long as the webmaster's cool with it it's okay.

I must admit that the wording is strange. the ", if authorized" is the confusing part. If authorized by whom? Is it the webmaster who must be authorized to grant permission by G? Or is it you who must be authorized by the granting of permission by the webmaster? etc...

Please get your own clarification though!

That's what folks on digital forum do. I don't think it's right, but anything goes with Google.

that's where I found it.

I was thinking, it probably isn't ever going to pay much for me or the posters of my forum, but it might at least give them some motivation for posting.
