Single Link Unit Not Working?

And I don't know why

I recently created and launched a new website. It features a fair amount of content with blended adsense ads. All of my pages have a similar structure including navigation and a vertical menu bar on the left.

On all of my pages at the very top of my menu bar I have a single 5 link ad unit setup. It works fine on all my pages and pulls related ads except for the index page. All I get is a box and a button that says "view ads about". I have the same code in the same spot on all other pages. Know I know googlebot has to crawl your page to tailor the ads accordingly and its visited frequently already.

Ideas?

if there is no ad links available with google for your content , the search box with "view ads about" will appear, it will not be a permanent one, if there is related links available it will work fine.

Thanks for your reply. I just found it odd that the subscribe and contact pages which are more bare than the index page serve proper ads. I am going to try and add more content on the index page to see if it helps too.

Something else that is weird is that on the subdomain that I had this hosted on while I was developing it the ads come up fine on the index page. Now I am really confused!
