Lately, I have consistently seen many gains in earnings without clicks which I attribute to advertisers site targetting my site. The smallest of these increments has been 2 cents and I have seen it several times. I am wondering if that is representing one ad view for the site targtted ad. That would equate to an ecpm of $20 which would be an improvement over my regular ecpm. Here is my thinking.
1. This is too high. It is nearly double the ecpm of the last three months.
2. Most likely I am seeing a rounded number and the actual view is paying in the neighbourhood of .015 which would be more inline with what one would expect since it would be an improvement in ecpm (that is the goal of Google too, right), but nothing earth shattering.

I still have some trivial questions about site targetting. If a site targetted ad shows up with other ads and the other ad(s) are clicked do we get value for the click and the impression? If the site targetted ad is clicked do we get value for the click and the impression. If not, will it show up simply as a 2 cent click, or will the click not be shown in the stats.

Site targeted ads are CPM ads, meaning you are paid for every impression even if the ad does not generate any click. If you have multiple ad units and one is showing CPM ad -- and you get paid for that impression already -- and another is a CPC ad which the user clicked, I would think that you will get paid both for the impression and the click.

Such a scenario reinforces my belief that having multiple ad units - as many here surmise - will not decrease your revenue. In fact, it allows you to show both CPM and CPC ads -- and earn from both. I'm sure this is part of what Google means when they say that site-targeted CPM ads will bring you more money, because you now have more chances to earn from your ads :o)

I'm glad to hear you're noticing an increase in eCPM with CPM ads. :)

In response to your question, if you're showing both CPC and CPM ads on a page, you'll be compensated for clicks to the CPC ads as well as on CPM basis.

Currently, we're unable to provide separate reporting for CPM and CPC ads, so your reports will show the combined impressions and earnings for CPM and CPC ads.
