First $100 Day!

Yesterday I had my first $100 day ($102.30) to be exact!
It is possible and it's a great feeling when you hit that first major milestone. Now, on to $200! :)

had mine last year... I was totally stoked. In effect it symbolized what I could actually accomplish financially and I'd been having my doubts about that so it was sort of a reaffirmation process for me.

Yeah, I was having my doubts a few weeks ago. After the Google update my daily average dropped from around $45 to the low $20s. My site was listed number one on Google.. With the change I dropped to around 60th.

I started doing some research and found some better ways to layout my site and the change was dramatic. It increased my click through rate by 300%! I made the change on July 5th and last week my site is now back in the top 10 and I've averaging over $80 per day, my highest ever.

Don't be discouraged by $8! Almost all of us have been there. You have to start somewhere. And $8 a day is almost $3,000 per year!

The biggest knowledge I can empart is that getting from $1-$20 is much harder than getting from $20-$100

Jawhite, I have a similar story. I was up to about $30 a day until the July 1st google update. I had been #1 in google for some keywords, now I am much further down, and down to about $7 a day. Could you tell me what changes you made to get your google rankings and/or adsense earnings back up? Please send me a note, or email (in my profile) if you'd be willing to give me some pointers.

Although I have passed those 8 dollar days long ago, but I am more encouraged when reading those posts. I rembmer my .80 cents or 8 dollars a day. It is more and more motivating to read these stories rather than 200-300 dollars a day.

Keep working, believe me with your hard work you will get there. I doubted first, but always kept the focuse and hope and trust in God.

Congrats big time! I remember $100 a day because it was the mark i put that I could live off of advertising, well ok survive but still get by :)

As a side story though I found as soon as I reached it (took 3 months to do) that it sat there for another 3 months and i was pulling my hair out then the 4th month in I jumped way up again, I have come to find out that it was google sandbox issue basically but man I was sure someone at google didnt want me ever getting to the $200 mark.

This is very inspirational stuff. I'm $2.64 away from my 1st $100.00. I've had adsense up on my site (one page site) for 6 weeks. Guess I need to add some pages, or maybe another site or two.

Yes starting is somewhat hard.

For me it was very hard to reach 20$ from 0$ per day.
It takes me 6 month to reach 20$ per day.But then in 2 month I increased it to 100$+ per day.

I targets for 200$ Now.

For the $1,000 day, I expect to get around 30,000 visitors. I usually get around between 10K and 15K visitors in a typical day however.

You seem to have a pretty high eCPM.

Currently I average around $200 a day with approx. 15k uniques a day.

I can't divulge this info. Against the TOS. But I can say that the best performing ad size on my site is the large rectangle.

It's funny, when Adsense first came out I gave it a try by putting the 468 x 60 banner ad on my site. I didn't try to blend the colors or anything. It performed horribly, people were just ignoring it. I think I pulled in like $20 a day or something off of 10K visitors/day.

So I dismissed Adsense just like I had dismissed Valueclick for underperforming. It wasn't until about 3 months ago that I started looking into it again after hearing about so many success stories.

I learned that you have to blend the ads into your site. As soon as I did that, the revenue started taking off.

so the main lesson I've learned is that it's really all about testing, testing, testing. Don't dismiss something just because it performs poorly at first. And of course you have to strive to continously increase traffic to your site.

BTW, if anyone lives in the Bay Area, CA, I'm trying to put together a group that would meet up once or twice a month to discuss internet marketing, adsense, SEO, and anything else that will help us learn to make more money online. (I'm not selling anything by the way, this would purely be a learning and discussion group)
