What Actually Happens When The Stats Get Stuck?

Where is this info held?

Yesterday, Friday, one of our sites had a stats stuck day, very, very slow with no updates for many hours.

Everything was down 50% except for page impressions which were absolutely normal.

Today the click dump has arrived with CTR 100% up and eCPM 300% up on average however the page impressions are stuck today!

Do I assume that page impression data is held at a different centre to the financial earnings data?

Are all Adsense, and Adword account details for that matter, held at the same or different centres?

Is it the sheer volume of data which keeps stalling the information or is it something like an electricity black out in India?

I have noticed that mostly when posters complain about the stats being stuck that USA posters are not experiencing the same problems.

I'm not complaining, I just wondered how this whole thing works and is administered since we hold live data on the Net and don't experience these kind of problems, then again, we don't have 50,000 publishers!

I certainly hope that my CTR stat is stuck today, because it is just 1/3 of my normal CTR. The impressions look normal though. I hope everything normalizes by the end of the day.
