Invisible Ads to attract mediapartner spider

I have a fairly large site, with a few 10s of 1000s of pages. While I have quite decent traffic, each page on average is only visited very seldom each day. The sum makes the volume, as each page satisfies a very specific need.

For me it would be great if I could add the adsense JS for a few days, while hiding the ads (for example by setting google_ad_height=0;). This would bring in the spider to crawl most of my pages. Then, when I make the ads visible, they will all show the properly targeted ads already.

I think this would be a great feature for large sites with many pages like mine.

Google is very specific about you not altering the Adsense javascript - see the terms you agreed to when joinng. The untargetted ads are non-offensive (charity ones) so you wont do any harm by showing them.

I'm just pointing out feature improvements in the hope google listens to this forum.

Regarding those charity ads, I may point out that indeed they may apear offensive to local websites, where the visitor will have no comprehension of these american specific charities.

I'd rather see public servicwe ads which are truly public with international apeal. There are plenty of worldwide cahrities, take your pick from wildlife preservation to help-the-children style charities.

What about putting the ad on the page, viewing it in your browser, then removing the ad until the MediaPartners Spider comes? That way Google will see that you are putting ads on a new page and request the bot to spider for content relation.

Hmm good idea.

I jsut wonder what kind of verification the bot does to ensure you haven't changed the code. What if the bot doesn't find the ad code at all?

The bot does come and check pages that are not in google that the ad was displayed on, but the code does not need to be there 100% of the time.
