Adsense Network errors?

Hi people,

This is my first post here. I have been a lurker of this forum for some time :)

I have noticed for the past 4-5 hours, google adsense ads have not been displaying right on my site. As a matter of fact, an error message is appearing in place of the usual leaderboard or medium rectangle ads, here is the error message:

Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: ""
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

Is this problem due to my isp or is it something wrong with Google server dishing out the ads?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,

Welcome to WW!

Be sure that it is not your browser playing up. All of them can get themselves into a weird state from time to time.

Clear the browser's cache, kill all copies, and restart.

If that does not work, log out and in and/or reboot your machine.

Note that at busy times of day some ISPs have very poor routing to particular parts of the Net due to their "transit" agreements or lack thereof. If nothing else works, say after a day, you might send your ISP a polite note explaining the problem and the steps that you have already taken, and asking if they know of any routing problems.

Do not do what one of my customers did when I ran one of the UK's first ISPs, viz, phone up, inform me that "the Internet is broken" and demand that I fix it immediately. B^>

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the tip but it still does not resolve the problem.

I tried deleting cookies, temporary internet files, cache as well as history. Unfortunately, the same network error message appears once more instead of advertisements. Another webmaster friend of mine is facing this too. Hmm, i am wondering if this could be due to my isp? But somehow this thought does not seem realistic as my internet connection is perfectly fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,

Note that you could quite realistically have good connectivity to the rest of the world but not to the AdSense servers. That's how a more complex routing problem at (or beyond) your ISP could manifest itself.

I'm not saying that's what it is, but you could now go ask your ISP if they know of any such problems.

Hi Damon,

I will contact my isp and see what might be wrong. :)

Thanks,
