The options are limited in that I can track my leaderboard, skyscraper and adlinks site wide and then track the individual pages by URL but I can't track "ADLINKS on PAGE3" or "SKYSCRAPER on PAGE7" or anything like that.
OK, yes, I could do it but only for a handful of pages, the cap on the total number of channels makes this task literally impossible for the size of my site as anything close to meaningful would need about 2,000 channels.
What would be nice and EASY (are you listening Google?) is to create a channel and have a checkbox to track this channel per page. That would allow me to get AdLinks, SkyScraper and Leaderboard stats per page site wide and it wouldn't take days to program all the channels.
Alternatively, let us specify at least 3 channels to track per ad unit, that would solve most of what I need but it would still be a royal pain to implement pasting unique code per page instead of site wide tracking.
Guess the bottom line is instead of specifying WHICH urls to track as a channel, it would be nice if optionally Google could just track all the referring pages automatically per channel. I don't even need this data in real time, daily reports would be nice at a minimum.
this problem seem to appear basically every day
Let's say I see 100 clicks on my aggregate count, but when I count the clicks that are coming fromt he channels, I see much less, around 25. Do you see a difference bettwen the click number in the Aggregate and channel reports? Have you checked?
Can you please help to explain? Is this normal? Why
Many thanks and best wishes.
Thanks for the suggestion about improving channel reporting to track site-wide by ad format. I’ve passed this feedback along to the product team.
Erku, - you might want to check out the following thread, which could explain the behavior you’ve noticed in your reports for various channels:
