Showing two ads on same page - How?

I've had trouble with this for SO long that I finally decided to ask about it. Whenever I try to display more than one ad unit on the same page I can only ever see one when I preview the page? Is there some reason for this? Is there a setting I need to be playing around with so that all ad units are visible. I'm using the same channel for each ad unit, could this be a problem? Thanks for your help!

It often takes a day or two to show the second or third ad units. Not sure why this is, but it is ;)
