I have adsense on all of my pages (over 100)and I have some affiliate ads on only a few of the pages (maybe 10% of the pages with the adsense)

Now my affiliate report shows several thousand more page impressions than adsense with far less pages. This doesnt make sense.

Any thoughts?

In my experience Google's stats are reliable, as are those of most affiliate companies. So what we're left with is that each is correct from their point of view - in other words, each is probably correct in terms of what exactly they are measuring.

For example: 1. AdSense requires a browser supporting iframes and Javascript; maybe the affiliate company is strictly looking at image requests and could be counting spiders or proxies or something. 2. Or maybe you have multiple tracking images on a page. 3. Or you're looking at stats that cover different time periods. 4. Or maybe you're getting a lot of AdSense default ads. 5. Or your AdSense stats are somewhat delayed. Etc.

The bottom line is that you have to pay attention to your own site's raw stats. You can't rely on third parties to tell you what's happening on your site.

I'm referring to non-paying public service ads. These are shown if there are no ads that can be matched to a given page, or if the page contains certain kinds of content that Google do not want to display ads for.

I don't specifically recall whether public service ads count as impressions or not.

No they are not PSA's but there is a great number of ads from one particular advertiser throughout the site.

I have been thinking of blocking this one due to the repetition. But wondered if I could unblock it if it turns out to be a bad idea. My per click average $ has dropped 60% over the last 45 days. But I wont give up.

Yes, you can unblock. You just delete the URL from the block list...
