Hi all,

I'm just starting out with Adsense, so I don't know all that much about it - and I was looking for a FAQ on the matter, but couldn't find anything reasonable.

The question I have is this. Supposing I had a site that generated about 120,000 hits on Adsense per month, and 0.6% of clicks, and paid about $90/month - would that a reasonable income, or are people able to generate much more than that? This would barely pay my hosting, and that's what I hear a friend's site makes, so I'm sort of questioning if the whole thing is worth it.

Any help or pointers or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

That's a good question. To be honest with you, AdSense revenue varies quite greatly from site to site. Some sites with half as much traffic as another site make double what another site makes.

It really depends on the topic, the site, the rankings, the quality of the traffic, etc. -- you get the idea. There are even other factors that have an effect on earnings and click-thru ratio, like site design, colors chosen, and the ads that are available.

You really cannot honestly tell until you actually put AdSense on a site and see what that particular website makes.
