Google Adsense...Quick Question...

Do they pay a fixed or 'percentage' rate?

I was just wondering if Adsense pays a standard $0.05 per click on any adsense ad on your site - or if you got say 3% of the click rate they were getting for the ad - ie - variable depending on the 'value' of the cutomer you were forwarding?

Easy i know - but thank you :)

Hey Harley,
it's variable and they don't disclose the % their publisher's get.

The lowest they pay is actually 2 cents per click, but the vast majority vary from higher than that to much much higher than that ;) Seems to depend on the actual value of the ads displayed.

So for example - very roughly - what would could i expect to get for a click on the 'first' (ie most expensive) ad sense click from my site for the adword "Music"?

also - is the code they implant into my page cgi? - or html links - or what?

Thanks so much for the helpful replies!

Harley_m, chances are, AdSense wouldn't pick up the keyword "music" to display on your site, most ads are more specific than that.

The AdSense code is delivered in an iframe as javascript. Just cut and paste it into your site.

It is free to sign up for, so you might as well send in an application, then start with a trial of AdSense on a few pages. Once the ads are targeted, you will get an idea on the potential revenue your site could earn from AdSense.

Do remember to follow all the AdSense terms, policies and FAQ, so no clicking on your own ads to see what kind of $ per click you are earning ;)
